Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 1, 2026

The Owl Time is local-first. It does not sell or share personal information, browsing history, website content, timer history, usage analytics, or advertising identifiers.

Data stored on your device

The extension stores timer state and settings, the owl’s screen position, completed focus sessions, optional focus plans, achievements, keepsakes, cosmetic choices, onboarding completion, project labels, and optional Owl Time Plus licence details in local browser-extension storage.

The Owl Time has no product account, analytics SDK, advertising SDK, or remote logging service. CSV and JSON exports are created only when you request them and are saved by your browser to a file you control.

Optional payments and licensing

If you choose Owl Time Plus, checkout opens on Dodo Payments. Dodo handles checkout information under its own privacy policy; The Owl Time never receives or stores card details.

For activation, periodic validation, or deactivation, the extension sends the licence key, an installation label, and the Dodo licence-instance identifier to the configured Dodo Payments licence endpoint. It does not send focus history, projects, labels, browsing activity, webpage content, or owl preferences. Normal licence validation occurs at most every seven days and supports a fourteen-day offline grace period.

Website access

The floating owl is displayed on HTTPS pages. The extension does not read, store, or transmit page text, forms, passwords, browsing history, or visited URLs. It does not run on browser-internal pages, extension stores, local files, or unencrypted HTTP pages.

Browser permissions

The extension does not request browsing history, tabs, cookies, identity, clipboard, downloads, notifications, or broad network interception.

Retention and deletion

Local data remains until you clear it, clear the extension’s browser storage, or uninstall the extension. Deactivating Plus removes the locally stored licence after Dodo confirms deactivation.

Children and changes

The extension does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children. If a future release introduces optional sync or new transmissions, this policy and the store disclosures will be updated before release.
